Plattsmouth, NE – June 13, 2015

1st Nebraska played for an appreciative crowd at last night’s concert in Plattsmouth, NE. The Main Street Association sponsors a summer-long concert series on Fridays and Saturdays on their “Main Street Stage.” It’s an entertainment plaza encompassing a former alley off the main street and utilizing buildings to give ambience to the sound. We enjoyed the added benefit of a nice breeze off the hill to our rear making our woolen coats a little more comfortable.

Our concert was a part of the city’s celebration of the 154th anniversary of the 1st muster of the 1st Nebraska Volunteer Infantry in June 1861. Company A was enlisted in Plattsmouth.

In the photo to the left, snare drummer Lauren Calkin, and bass drummer Carl Highman, are featured in the standard Civil War drum beat “The Downfall of Paris.”

It was a good evening to perform outdoors, and we appreciate the hospitality of the Main Street Association’s president.
